Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your beloved, Zara Mary. I pray you will find comfort in the promises from our Creator when he states, 'Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out (John 5:28, 29). This is a guarantee from God that soon we will be with our loved ones in the resurrection.

My grandmother was a character. A very fun, interesting and unforgetable person who always said exactly what she thought. What I honor most is her very close relationship and devotion to my dad and my Aunt Roberta, she obviously loved them dearly as they loved her. Such love between a mother and her children is to be honored and admired. Through my grandmother, my dad and my Aunt Roberta, I've learned much about caring for the sick and elderly in one's family. My dad Eugene, was not mentioned in her obituary. He loved and cared for her unconditionally. He died before she did, but left us with the peace of knowing she was in good hands. I only wish I had the letters they exchanged while he was in the service that I heard so much about! It was a great sadness and loss to him when his own failing health kept him from visiting her. He was very grateful to her caregivers at the adult family home and to my dear Aunt Roberta, who so faithfully cared for grandma. I'll bet dad, grandma, my mom and brother are having quite the reunion now! My own little family will be forever grateful for the "Sunshine Salad" which graces every Thanksgiving and celebration we have.

I remember the trips to Seattle as a kid.  When I would get up in the morning Grandma always had half a grapefruit on a plate to eat before she made a big huge breakfast.  I remember she used to lecture me about how computers would be the future and I should learn all I could about them.  Wow!  She really knew what she was talking about...too bad I didn't listen!

I think I was the last of my grandma's grandchildren to get married.  Grandma always told me don't get married to young.  So I took her advise and waited until I was 41!  I'm glad Grandma got the chance to meet my husband Tim.
I remember haircuts at Grandma and Grandpa's house at Green Lake.  I remember it smelled like lavendar.  I loved going over there because they had a cat, who's name escapes me right now. She was really Grandpa's cat, but I remember Grandma'a job was feeding her.  
I remember my dad's unfailing love for Grandma, even when she thought he was her brother, and even when she didn't remember him at all.  Dad missed her when he wasn't able to visit her at the Caring Place anymore.  
I remember Grandma always wanting a "little bite of something".  She loved chocolate!  Now I know where my sister and I got our sweet tooth!  and I remember my Auntie Berta's love and care for Grandma all these years.  
I'm sure there's a big Tate family party going on right now in heaven!
Bye Grandma!!  We'll miss you!

Grandma was such a strong woman! She really experienced life. I'm a better woman for having had her for an example.

I felt that Zara truly loved and deeply cared about each of us. She was always interested in what we were doing.  No matter what, she was there, ready to help with a recipe, a haircut or advice.  I learned so much from her. She was a special blessing for me, my family and my Dad.
