Andrew Charles Wilke loved the Seguin Matadors and could remember Matador football stats from way back. Andrew passed away following years of illness on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, surrounded by his devoted family at the age of 59. Friends and family are invited to Goetz Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2014 for a time of visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A Graveside service will follow on Friday the 27th at St James Catholic Cemetery in Seguin at 1:30.

Andrew was born in Seguin, Texas on December 3, 1955 to Marvin Walter and Rosie Emma (Pierdolla) Wilke. He grew up in Seguin and graduated with the Class of 1976 from Seguin High School. Andrew never married but devoted himself to his family. He worked for thirteen years at JC Penny in Seguin as a custodian leaving due to debilitating illness. Andy was very shy, quiet and one of the most caring big hearted people you could have ever met. He loved watching the Green Bay Packers, following the Matadors, bingo, deep sea and cat fishing and watching wrestling. He enjoyed going with his family to wrestling matches and followed the careers of Shawn Michaels and Kevin Von Erick. Andy also was a big believer in the Dave Campbell Football Book, following each season and insisting on a new book each year. Andrew didn’t have much but would always do something special for his nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Rosie.

Andrew is survived by his siblings; Dennis Wilke and his wife Carol; Frances Kern and her husband Greg; and Connie Sturm and her husband Danny. He also will be missed by his nieces and nephews Brandy Herrera, Jason Gruver, Cyndl Wilke, Mallory Giron, Gregory Kern Jr., and Amber, Justin and Harley Sturm as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
