

Dolores A. Almendarez, 93, of Seguin, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Nesbit Care Center. She was born to Catarino Alvarado and Ignacia (Aleman) Alvarado on May 16, 1918 in Cibolo, Texas. Dolores, also known by some as “Mrs. Ray”, co-owned and operated Ray’s Café in Kingsbury with her husband Raymond for many years. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Some of her favorite things to do were being outdoors and spending time with her husband fishing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and son, Fernando. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to the staff at Nesbit for the many years of loving care that they provided to her and especially to Dr. Robert Frets for the professional and compassionate care which he provided.
Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Thursday at Goetz Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday morning until 1:15 PM when the service departs the funeral home in procession to the Church. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated, 1:30 PM Friday, January 20, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rites of Christian Burial to follow in Kingsbury Cemetery.
