A funeral service for loving wife, mother and friend Dorothy Lorene Hall, 75, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8 2010 at 2pm with a visitation starting at 10 am at Goetz Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Capote Cemetery. Affectionately known as "Dot" to her family and many friends, Dorothy Hall was a very colorful, creative and cheerful personality for which she will be tenderly remembered. Born May, 26 1935 to Floyd and Opal Nelson, in Salpupa, OK., Dorothy grew up and thrived in the growing small towns, orchards and oilfields of Deep South Texas, cementing solid homegrown Texas tradition to her every thought and action. Her gorgeous and detailed crochet work, notable for the old-style delicate white yarn dollies as well as her lush, warm wool afghans will be cherished dearly by those who received, as gifts, the works of her skillful and dedicated hands. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Gloria Orsinger and husband Ward, grandchildren Sean Manczuk and wife Elaine, Steven Manczuk, great grandchildren Michael and Brittany Manczuk and a sister Donetta Mott and husband Phillip. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that any donations be made to Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services. The family wishes to thank the hospice nurses and Karlene Fey for her care and devotion as Ms. Hall's personal home aide. Arrangements are under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home.
