Dorothy Louise (Wolle) Timmermann left this world on September 26, 2013 to rest in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. Dorothy lived a life that was fully committed to the service of others and to Jesus. She was a loving companion to her husband Curtis for 63 years. What a model for marriage they provided! As a life-long homemaker, she poured herself into her children and grandchildren, their activities, and into the community. She was co-founder of the A&M Mother’s Club of Guadalupe County, served on a variety of local, regional, and national mission boards, and the local garden clubs. However, she chose not to live in the spotlight but rather in the background where she could serve others on a one-on-one basis driving cancer patients to their treatment sessions and visiting nursing home residents for many, many years. Cards, letters, phone calls, and home-baked goods were parts of the hallmark of this behind the scenes service. Her preserves, pies, and cakes will be sorely missed by all those blessed with having eaten them. Dorothy loved the outdoors, travel, gardening, and most of all sitting on the back porch surrounded by her children and grandchildren. The springtime was the best of all times to be sitting on her back porch with her as her flower gardens were always in full bloom.
She was born in Ben and Louise Wolle in San Antonio, Texas on March 24, 1932.
On April 8, 1950 she was married to Curtis Timmermann and remained his devoted wife and companion for the next 63 years. She was blessed with a large family including Debbie Miller and husband Murray, Jeanie Timmermann, Gary Timmermann and wife Laura, and David Timmermann and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Shannon, Sarah, Jason, Dustin, Lindsey, Aaron, Amanda and Kyle, and great grandchildren Logan Carter, Olsen and Avery.
Services celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held at Goetz Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday September 30, 2013 from 5 to 6:30 pm and the funeral service will be Tuesday, October 1 beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Dorothy’s honor may donate to the American Cancer Society and Good Shepard Evangelical Church.
