“Big Johnny”

Juan Inocencio Saldana, loving husband, father and grandfather and former installer and foreman at Marble Masters for 25 years, lost his battle to cancer suddenly on September 24, 2014 at his home in Seguin, Texas. He was 56 years old. Big Johnny was born to Eugene and Lina (DeLeon ) Saldana at his grandparents’ home in Seguin on December 28, 1957. He fell in love with Lucy Nieto when they were kids and married her on July 29, 1975 in Seguin Texas and within a year started their family together. Big Johnny loved his grandkids. He was the barbeque master of his family, had a special talent in caring for his plants and garden, loved baseball and football, to dance in the privacy of his home and attending Saint James Catholic Church in Seguin. He enjoyed watching Andy Griffith, Gunsmoke and Bonanza.

Johnny is survived by Lucy, his dedicated wife of 39 years; his children, Christy Saldana and her husband Dustin Wilson; Juan Saldana Jr. “Little Johnny”; Veronica Saldana; and Michael Saldana as well as his extended family Jeanette & Eddie Holman, Jamie Carson; Sheila Gonzales all of Seguin and Alan & Judy Black of Missouri. His presence will also be missed by his grandchildren, David Carcuro Saldana, Austin Wilson “Hoss”, Travis Wilson “Festus”, Brandon James Saldana, Haley Saldana, Madison Gonzales, Malakhi Saldana, Jiselle Saldana, Razie Saldana, Kaylee Homan, Eddie Homan III “Bubba”, Bella Homan, Lorelai Homan “Lollipop” as well as by his Father Eugene Saldana, his siblings Henry Saldana Sr.; Gene Saldana and his wife Rose, Roy Saldana and his wife Elizabeth and Sylvia Madrano as well as numerous Nieces and nephews and his faithful dog Shadow.

Friends may call upon Big Johnny’s family on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Goetz Funeral Home 713 N. Austin Street, Seguin Texas between 5 and 7 pm. A Rosary will take place at 7:00 PM in the Goetz Memorial Chapel following the visitation officiated by Dean Nick Carrillo. A mass of the resurrection will commence on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10:00 am at Saint James Catholic Church 510 South Camp St. Seguin Texas officiated by father Greg Nevlud with Interment following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park 2951 State Hwy 46 South New Braunfels, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Saldana, Eddie Homan Jr. , Gilbert Nieto, David Saldana, Dustin Wilson, Henry Saldana Jr., with Elizabeth Saldana, Alan Black and Eddie Homan III as honorary pallbearers.
