Max M. Lamm, Jr. was born on April 4, 1925 to Max M. Lamm, Sr. and Helen Chevalier Lamm. He grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where he met and married Barbara Winterborne Lamm. He attended Central Catholic High School in San Antonio and earned his college degree from St. Mary's University. He served in the United States Navy, South Pacific, during WWII on LST 819, USS Hampshire County. Because of their love for country living, Max and Barbara settled in Seguin, Texas, where they raised their four boys. Max was a Grand Knight with the Knight's of Columbus, a member of the Seguin Lion's Club, a member of the San Angelo Sundown Lion's Club, and a member of the Guadalupe County Sheriff Mounted Posse, as well as a Civil Service Employee. Max loved the outdoors and didn't miss an opportunity to hunt, fish and work on the farm. He had a great love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which led him and Barbara to San Angelo where Max was able to give Barbara her "Mansion" on the lake. He always had them sitting on his lap, telling them fishing stories of when he was in the Navy, always repeating one popular Navy song, "Who hit Nelly in the belly with a flounder?" We will miss his one-liners!
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Helen Lamm; wife, Barbara Lamm; sister, Rosemary Price; son, Louis Lamm; grandson, Colton Lamm; great-grandson, Peyton Smith; and daughter-in-law, Mary Lamm.
He is survived by his sons, Max M. Lamm, III, Dr. Harold G. Lamm and Joseph L. Lamm (Cathy); daughters-in-law, Melissa Lamm and Lauren Sorell; grandchildren, Dr. Ashley David (Davie), Benjamin Lamm (Amber), Zachary Lamm, Lindsay Lamm-Smith, Tyler Lamm, Marshall Lamm, Kayla Lamm and numerous other relatives and friends.
