

Roland George Reimers passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Colonial Gardens in San Antonio at the age of 86. He was born in Seguin Texas to Wilhelm and Laura (Engelke) Reimers Sunday May 13, 1928, Mother's Day. He was a graduate of Navarro School and served during WWII as a Merchant Marine. Roland worked at farming and fishing, as a traveling paint distributor, house painter and he built, owned and operated a roller skating rink, where he could dance on his skates. He was married to Elizabeth Meyer from 1948-1961. He was then married to Patricia Kischefsky in 1963 for 6 months. His third long-term relationship didn't result in a marriage to Music Professor and Church Organist, Anita Windecker. He later married Doris Pfullmann in October 1980 and they remained together until her death in September of 2010. While married to Doris he went back to painting houses, gardening, building custom made bird houses, playing outdoor shuffle board games, and building frames for Doris' beautiful artwork, as well as playing music together. Roland loved singing and could sing a song from every word that he heard. He often sang and played harmonica at many area nursing homes.
Roland's family includes his son Gary W Reimers and his wife Debra; his daughter Gay Land and her boyfriend Arthur Vasquez; his Grandson Justin Reimers and his wife Andrea; grandson Travis Reimers and his wife Gloria; grandson Nicholas and his wife Jenny; grandson Cory and his girlfriend Nicole Fisk; grandson Brandon Reimers; grandson Jason Land and his wife Yoana; grandson Alex Land and his partner Mark McGregory; granddaughter Pamela Ford and her husband Tony; grandson Brent Land and his wife Meredith; great grandchildren Camden Reimers, Tristan Reimers, Isaiah Reimers, Ellis Reimers, Everleigh Reimers, Abigail Land, Brendan Ford, Mikalah Ford. He also leaves behind, his sister Dorothea (Dolly) Reimers and his sister-in-law Maddie Reimers. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard Reimers, William "Bill" Reimers; his nephews Ben Kiesling and Dudley Reimers and his niece-in-law Neva Reimers. Roland was also preceded in death by his 14 year old son; Paul Kischefsky.
Please join Roland's family for a time of visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm at Goetz Funeral Home 713 North Austin Street, Seguin, Texas. Funeral Services for Roland will take place on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Emanuel's Lutheran Church 206 North Travis Street Seguin, Texas at 3:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Edward Morris of New Century Hospice in San Antonio. Roland will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Doris at San Geronimo Cemetery 1620 East Walnut Street, Seguin, Texas.
