Tommie Murillo

A Rosary will be recited Thursday August 1, 2013 at 9:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 am at St James Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 1 pm at St James Catholic Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Stegall and her husband Stewart Edgington; her son, Mike Murillo and Mimi Weintraub; grandsons, Denton Paul Murillo and Nolan Thomas Murillo; special nephew Robert (Bob) Garcia and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tommie was a leader in breaking through social and economic barriers for Hispanics in Seguin when she opened her own beauty shop that served all elements of society. Her husband, Dan Murillo, joined her when he decided to also pursue a beautician career after military service in WWII.
