Velma M Reininger

Velma Meta Reininger went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2013 at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by her Son Delmar Wayne Reininger, Father Ewald Schroeder, Mother Antonia Woelke Schroeder, Grandfather Emil Woelke, Grandmother Adele Woelke, and Brother Martin Schroeder.

She is survived by her husband, Elmond Otto Reininger of 66 years of marriage which was spent together in Sequin, TX. Son Ray and Wife Cynthia Reininger of Sequin, TX. Granddaughter Rayann Schmid, great granddaughters Kelsey, Shelby, and great grandson Garret of Nacogdoches, TX. Grandson Eric and wife Erin, great granddaughter Sydney and great grandson Liam Reininger of Victoria, TX. Grandson Thomas Reininger and Fiancée Robyn of Beeville, TX. Grandsons Micheal, Timothy, and Joseph Reininger of Sequin, TX. Daughter-in-law Gail Reininger of Angleton, TX. Grandson Kenneth Wayne and Wife Christi Reininger of Angleton, TX. Great Granddaughter Harlie Lynn Reininger and Great grandson Little Wayne and Dustin Reininger of Angleton, TX. Great granddaughter Paige and husband Mark Kitchens of Waco, TX. Great great granddaughter Caleigh Rose Kitchens and great great grandson Mark Allen Kitchens of Waco, TX. Sister-in-law LulaMae Schroeder and nephews Mark and Steven of San Antonio, TX. Sister Evelyn Raske of McQueeney, TX.

She was a member of Emanuel’s Lutheran Church since April 6, 1941, and was part of Emanuel’s Ladies Aid for many years. Lots of time went into her handmade quilts in which she took so much pride in. Her grand kids, great grandkids, great great grandkids, nieces, nephews, and in-laws were given beautiful Afghans made from her hands and with lots of love. She had a passion for making beautiful needlework which included canvases, and embroidery. She was also known for her amazing and delicious baking, flowers, and bowling for many years.

She was a talented and extraordinary lady and had lots of Faith in the Lord. She will be missed by Family and Friends.

Visitation will be held at Goetz Funeral Home on Monday Jan. 21, from 5-9p.m., with family present until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church with interment following at San Geronimo Cemetery.
