

Virgil John Myers, age 90, entered into eternal rest on January 4th, 2013. Virgil was born on March 25, 1922 to Forest and Lydia Myers in Rosebud, Alberta, Canada. He married Lou Ann Chernik on June 2nd, 1944. Virgil served in the Army Air Force for 4 years and as a flight instructor training new pilots for 10 years at Hondo Air Base and Moore Air Base in Mission, Texas.
In 1968 Virgil moved his family to Seguin to start a small business. Virgil continued to fly his airplane and loved to perform aerobatics up until the age of 84. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and BBQing. His greatest joy was having all of his family together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Bagley; and a brother, Edward Myers.
Virgil is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lou Ann Myers. His sons: Forest Myers of Spicewood, Steve Myers and his wife Patsy of D'Hanis; daughters: Kathi Gremillion and her husband Earl of McDade, Kaye Koehler and her husband Gregg of Seguin; sister, Marva Maxwell and her husband Hugh of Lisle, Illinois; grandchildren: Billy Joe, Richard and Paul Myers; Erin Arnold; Matthew, Jared, and Weston Koehler; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the front stateroom of Goetz Funeral Home from 5-7 pm on Monday, January 8th. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, January 9th, at Kingsbury United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kingsbury United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
