

William Earl Lockett, age 28, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 5, 2011. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on November 1, 1982 and lived in McQueeney, Texas for much of the last 10 years. One of his proudest achievements was receiving his undergraduate degree in Finance from Texas State University in December 2009. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed wakeboarding, skateboarding, hunting, fishing, running, and biking. He was a loving grandson, son, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sister, Alissa Lockett; grandmother, Myrtle Riley; uncle and aunt, Wick and Mary Riley; uncle and aunt, Charles and Cheryl Stockton; uncle and aunt, Bill and Nikki Lockett; girlfriend, Christine Rankin; cousins, Brett, Cheri, Brian, Chad, Daniel, Laura and Leslie; other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Riley Lockett; father, Charles Lockett; maternal grandfather, Earl Riley; and paternal grandparents, William “Bob” and Lucy Lockett.
A memorial service will be at 3 pm, Monday, May 9th at Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church, 6201 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Sambo Muir Memorial Fund, sambomuir.org, is appreciated. This fund was instrumental in helping William complete his undergraduate studies. William will be greatly missed, but his laughter, kindness, good humor and love he shared with his family and friends will be forever cherished.
