

41, died peacefully March 16, 2016. She was the daughter of Cmdr. Lee Robert Bohning, CEC, USN, Retired and Patricia Sue Bohning. She is also survived by her sister, Carrie Lee (Tom) Gray, aunt, Mary Rebecca Buster, MD, grandmother, Ruby Elton McConnell, uncle, Richard (Patricia) Bohning, aunt, Patricia Corcoran, Cousins, Paul, Kim, and Lisa and their children. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Luther A. “Mac” McConnell and Gilbert and Mabel Bohning, uncle, William Bohning, and cousins, Brian, Melissa and Michael. She also left behind many longtime and loving friends, including Jeff and Tina Stevens, Dani Gaya of Barcelona, Spain, and Pedro Cruz.
Mandy was born in Orlando, Florida Friday, the 13th of September, 1974. She always considered 13 to be “her number” and used it in many passwords. She attended schools in Port Hueneme, CA, Yokosuka, Japan, Virginia Beach, VA, and Orlando, FL, finally graduating from Dr. Phillips High School in 1992. She received her B.S. from University of Central Florida in 1995 and M.S. from Syracuse University in 1996. It was at Syracuse where Mandy met a dear and special friend, A.J. O’Toole. He passed away in 2013. After graduation, Mandy worker literally all over the world, from Florida to California to Spain.
Mandy loved fine dining and cooking. She recently told her sister she loved watching cooking shows. She actually was on a cooking show in Spain where she was a big hit cooking the assigned meal of liver, even though she didn’t eat it.
Mandy was also a big fan of Disney and had visited every park except China. She loved the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, Pirates of the Carribean, the Carousel of Progress, and Star Wars. She also loved her doggie, a Shetland Sheep dog named Pixel, and he brought her great joy at the end of her life. Mandy led a full and rich life, and left many friends from all over the world.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33760.
