

Dena Therese Stack, age 67, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by love. She was born on August 2, 1958, in Warren, Michigan, to Roman and Helen Stack, both of whom preceded her in death. Dena grew up in South Bend, Indiana and later completed high school in St. Petersburg, Fl.
Dena dedicated her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse – a profession she dearly loved. Her compassion and empathy and dedication touched countless lives. After 13 years of service, she was forced to retire due to Multiple Sclerosis, but she never let her illness define her. She faced life’s challenges with courage, grace, and an unshakable positive spirit.
Dena was known for her independence, her nonjudgmental heart and her joyful love of life. She never complained, even in difficult times. She found joy in simple pleasures – cooking delicious meals, tending her garden and searching for the best deals.
Dena is survived by her siblings and their spouses: Gayle Stack Bache and William Bache, III, Renee Stack Hofer and John Hofer, Linda Stack Thornton and Brian Thornton, Michael Stack and Melanie Butler Stack. She was preceded in death by her sister Teri Stack Dunlap and brother-in-law Harold Dunlap.
Dena shared a wonderful and loving relationship with her siblings and their spouses, who admired her strength, generosity, wit and optimism. Her life will be celebrated by family and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
