Dennis Joseph Morrow

January 20, 1949June 18, 2018

Dennis Joseph Morrow was born on January 20th, 1949 to Margaret and Martin Morrow or as he referred to them as Marge and Marty. Dennis was their second child. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby. He is survived by his sisters, Bub's and Maureen.

Growing up his nickname was "Gorgeous George" because he was so muscular, even as a small child. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up on Long Island, first in Levittown and then in Hicksville. He was very athletic and loved playing all kinds of sports. Dennis even played drums with Billy Joel while in Hicksville High School which they both attended. After graduation he attended college and earned a computer degree. The computers at that time filled a whole room. After college he lived in St Thomas for a while and when he returned to New York he worked various jobs but construction was his passion. He loved working with his hands seeing how you could create nothing into something. He earned the name "Concrete Den".

He married Kathy Newhook and they moved to Florida where they raised their two sons, Dennis and Matthew. He loved boating, fishing, motorcycles, golfing and most of all he loved his family. He usually was the last to leave any party. Kathy's brothers, Harry and Gerard became his brothers. His many nieces and nephews, Kristi, Ryan, Laura, Krista, Danielle, Brandon, Chris, and Kyle all love Uncle Dennis. Dennis was the guy that anyone could call up if they needed any help of any kind and he always was right there for them.

Dennis, we will all miss you more than you could ever know!

Loved Dennis. Met him and Kathy when first moved to Florida. Our kids went to St. Pats together. Didn't know anyone really and since we were all NYers we became fast friends. Some great parties at Kathy and Dennis's holidays with all the family. Treated my son and I as family.
Later on I'd meet Dennis at Crabby Bills and have a great time catching up.
Dennis you're one of the best and I will miss you.
