Erma M. Bahrenburg passed away after a long illness on January 10, 2015 at the Sabal Palms Health Care Center, Largo, Florida. Dr. Bahrenburg was born in Queens, New York on August 13, 1924 to Willhemina and Louis Bahrenburg. She attended the Mount Sinai School of Nursing and obtained graduate degrees in nursing from New York University and Columbia University. She was a long-standing member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City, New York. Before her retirement, Dr. Bahrenburg was a professor of nursing at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Bahrenburg and Grace Bahrenburg Siebert. Dr. Bahrenburg is survived by her two nieces, Barbara Siebert Willhoft and Lois Siebert Sadler.
