Gary was born on September 22, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to Imon and Adabelle Walters. He attended Whitmer High School. On July 8, 1961, he married the love of his life, Martha, and together they built a life and family that spanned generations.
Gary spent over 50 years working in construction, a career built on hard work and dedication. He was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Outside of work, Gary had a passion for sports and found quiet joy in doing puzzles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Martha; his children, Susan (Keith) Jarvis, Tami (Lee) Prince, Gail Walters, Christopher Walters, and Karen (Craig) Jackson; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Imon and Adabelle Walters, and his son, Gary Walters.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Gary's name.
A visitation will be held at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home, 7950 131 Street North, Seminole, FL 33776, US, on August 22, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by a prayer service at the same location from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
