THOMAS, Genevieve J., 93, of Seminole, Florida, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida. She was born April 13, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Anthony and Frances (Merendine) Scardelli. Genevieve moved to Florida in the 1960s from Newark, where she worked as a secretary in a foundry and as an E.M.T. In Florida, Genevieve was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and a former board member of the Timberwoods Condominium Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Thomas, and was the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by step-sons, Edward G. Thomas, and his wife Beth Ann, and Charles E. Thomas, and his wife Catherine; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Largo, Florida. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband in Garden Sanctuary Cemetery in Seminole, Florida.
