KEIFER, James Leon, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Jim was born on April 23rd 1930 in Cleveland Ohio to parents Charles B. Keifer and Josephine Compatore. Jim was raised and loved by his father Charles and step-mother Bessie Keifer. Jim married his wife Elaine on February 2, 1959. He served in the US Navy, worked as a butcher for A&P and was a quality control inspector for Honeywell Electronics. Jim & Elaine moved to Largo, Florida from Akron, Ohio in the 1960's. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating & hunting. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #2159 and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Advisory Board. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend!
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine V. Keifer; stepson, James B. Ward; daughter-in-law, Penny Ward; daughter, Linda Plennert; grandchildren, Erica and Wayne Gibson, Sasha and Keith Collins and many great-grandchildren.
Jim's smile, presence, sense of humor and hugs will be missed. His laughter will forever shine in our hearts and where it leads we will follow.
