Jane Ellen (Weber) Halstead, 76, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away on February 26, 2021 and went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on February 26, 1945 to Forest “Jake” and Virginia Weber in Plainfield, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Judy Underwood, and by her stepmother, Ocie Weber. Jane was a hard-working, fiercely independent, funny person and a real fighter. She was among the first women supervisors for Allison’s (GM) in Indianapolis before it became necessary for her to move to a warmer climate for her health. She loved to laugh and enjoyed her family immensely, particularly her two grandsons. She loved going on cruises and spending time with her family. She regularly kept in touch with her aunts, uncles and cousins. Jane had a number of health problems over the years, but she fought hard to the end.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Lynn Edwards of Largo, Florida and Lori Crook (Dale) of Seminole, Florida; two grandsons, Tyler Crook and Nicholas Crook, both of Seminole, Florida; sisters Carol Weber of Plainfield, Indiana, and Cathie Runnels (Kelly) of Cabot, Arkansas; niece Sarah Taylor of Houston, Texas and nephew Chris Runnels (Stephanie) of Cabot, Arkansas; numerous loving cousins and relatives in Indiana, Texas, Missouri, and Florida, and adored grand-dogs Marley and Lily.
Arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations honoring Jane’s life be made to Wounded Warriors.
