Mary Jane Grace Powers

(June 3, 1928-May 25, 2021)

Age 92, passed away May 25, 2021 at Tierra Pines nursing facility in Largo, Florida.

She was born June 3, 1928 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Grace N.(Howling) and Osbern R.Raymond.

She was preceded in death by parents Grace (Howling) and Osbern Raymond, brother Duaine O.

(Mary) Raymond, husband William H. Powers, and son William H. Powers II.

She is survived by brother, Jack (Sharon) Raymond and children, Brenda (Ray) Lutrzykowski, Diana (Bruce) Calhoun, Dennis (Susan) Rodenberg, Sue Powers, Tony Powers (Pam Lavoie), Dawn (Brad) Westphal and Kellie Powers Aretz, as well as other family and friends.

Her grandchildren include Brian, Kim, Sean, Casey Erick, Trini, Eli, Will, Brandy, Amanda, Joshua, Ashton, Kaitlin, David, Isabella and Aaron. Great grandchildren are Garrett, Courtney, Connor, Jack, Abby, Logan, Brooklyn, Gabriel, Emma, Serena, Alec, Jaymen, Alley, Colton, Ellie, Lucas and Skyla.

She lived and worked in Michigan (Wayne and Irish Hills) until moving to Florida (Largo and Seminole) in 1978. She worked in several clerical positions, as well as raising 7 children. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and cross stitch embroidery. She especially enjoyed any opportunity for the large family to gather for holidays and celebrations and welcomed every new addition.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Suncoast Empath Hospice or a charity of your choice in her name. Her ashes will be interred at Garden Sanctuary Cemetery in Seminole, Florida. Family will celebrate her life privately at a later date.
