Mary Ellen Troy O'Neil

She was born March 28, 1923 in Shullsburg, Wisconsin to Michael Raymond Troy and Beulah Zita Cherry Troy. She was a graduate of Shullsburg High School and graduated from St. Charles Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She joined the Navy in May of 1945 and served until March of 1946. Mary moved to Tampa, Florida in 1953 and to Seminole, Florida in 1994. She was a member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in Seminole.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Peter A. O’Neil; in-laws, Phyllis “Lynn” O’Neil and Violet “Pat” O’Neil.

Survivors include children, Michael Ardell O’Neil, Mary Ellen Sherlock, Patricia A. O’Neil, Christopher Peter O’Neil, Bernadette Neely, and John J. O’Neil; in-laws, John Sherlock, John C. Neely, Jr., Karen O’Neil, and Jonathan Cigarran; grandchildren, Bernadette “Kristy” Cigarran, Michael L. O’Neil, Elizabeth “Betty” Sherlock, Anthony “Tony” O’Neil, John Christopher Neely, Amanda M. O’Neil, Joseph T. O’Neil, Matthew S. O’Neil, Samantha O’Neil, and Peter O’Neil, and a great grandchild, Cheyenne O’Neil.

A visitation held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 10851 Ridge Rd. Largo, FL. Interment at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida.
