Mokhless "Mike" Khaled Mugharbel, 83, of Seminole, passed peacefully on October 18, 2018.

Born in Hama, Syria, on November 9, 1934, to Khaled and Najieh (Mashnouk) Mugharbel, Mokhless was one of ten children. He came to the United States in 1958 to attend the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Margaret, met while graduate students at Florida State University and married in 1967.

Mokhless had a long and fulfilling career developing vocational rehabilitation programs for the disabled, working first in Illinois for ten years, and then for 17 years in the International Labour Organization of the United Nations. Based first in Bahrain, then Switzerland, and later, Thailand, he travelled extensively throughout the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Rim for his work.
