Nola A. McVay beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away August 19, 2018. Nola was born in Gladwin, Michigan. Her family moved to Ithaca, Michigan when she was 13. She graduated from Ithaca High School in 1946. Nola then moved to Lansing Michigan and worked at Kroger Company where she retired from in 1985. In 1987 she and her husband Lyle moved to Seminole, FL where they enjoyed their retirement.
Nola was a dedicated member of Chapel on the Hill where she was a member of the Red Hats Society, Chapel Shepard’s, the prayer chain, the thrift store as well as an usher and greeter. She would also prepare the chapel for Sunday services.
Nola is preceded in death by her husband Lyle W. McVay (2007) of Seminole, Florida, her parents - Alva and Mary Irene Dawson, 2 sisters - Margaret Maltby and Ruth VanHorn, 3 brothers - Robert Dawson, Wayne Dawson and Maurice Dawson.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle Hernandez of Seminole Florida, Grandson and his wife - Paul and Jessica Hernandez of Seminole, FL, Granddaughter - Jodie Snyder of St. Petersburg, FL, Grandson and his wife - Todd and Kellie Hernandez of Grayling, Michigan and her 7 great grandchildren: Kody, Kameron and Dariann Hernandez, Daniel and Dawson Snyder, and Mitch and Sean Hernandez. As well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please send contribution to the Hospice Society of Pinellas County in honor of Nola McVay and family.
