Eldemire, Philip Merrick, 96, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Largo Medical Center. Philip was born on December 14, 1916 in Cayman Islands to the late Philip Charles & Giorgella M (McLaughlin) Eldemire. He moved to Clearwater, FL in 1982 coming from Baltimore, MD. Philip was a Stationary Engineer serving in the Merchant Marine during WWII. He continued his trade working for American Can, National Gypsum and then Westinghouse. Philip was a member of Abundant Life Ministries where he served as a trustee and Elder and was active in the Candle Aglow Ministry.
Philip was predeceased by his wife, Grace in 2004 and a daughter, Louella Eldemire Brown in 2012.
Surviving is a loving daughter, Judy Sher Eldemire (Arnold) Rosenberg of Baltimore, MD, a granddaughter, Brenda Louella Brown and a great grandson, Cole Johnston both of Park City, UT and three brothers, Philip Colburn (Ruth) Eldemire of Grand Cayman, Philip George (Pamela) Eldemire of Cayman Brac and Irving Bruce (Nelve) Eldemire of Little Cayman.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be offered to Abundant Life Ministries.
Funeral Services held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Abundant Life Ministries, 1550 Belcher Road South, Largo, FL 33771. Friends are calling 1 hour prior to the service at church. Committal prayers with military honors and burial will follow at Garden Sanctuary Cemetery in Seminole, FL.
