February 11, 1929May 24, 2019

Phyllis Marie Grace passed away on May 24th 2019, at her daughter’s house, in Saint Petersburg, Fl. She had been ill for some time and finally succumbed, to be with her beloved husband, Harley, in heaven.

Phyllis Sims was born to Olive and Alvin Sims in Bagley, Iowa on Feb. 11, 1929. She grew up in Ogden, Iowa and became a registered nurse, from Iowa Methodist Hospital. She lived in Des Moines and married Clifford Boaz in 1952. They had 3 children, Tami, Sammy, and Shari. Sammy died at age 5.

Cliff died at age 50, leaving Phyllis a widow at age 41. She continued to raise 2 daughters and work full time as a Labor and delivery nurse at St. Lukes Hospital in Davenport, Iowa.

In 1979, She married Harley Grace, and they retired together, moving to Hudson, Florida in 1980. There, they were together and active in all events that pertained to the Aripeka Elks Lodge and volunteered with numerous groups. They spent 38 years of marriage, together, until he passed in 2017

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Tami Taylor in Saint Petersburg, Fl and Shari Dorsey in Villa Park, CA. Four grandchildren, Aubrey Taylor, Austin Taylor, Saeley Dorsey and Sam Dorsey. 2 Great grandchildren, Vivian and Violet Taylor.

She was preceded in Death by her parents, her sister, Darlene Kuhl, her son, Sammy, her husband Cliff Boaz, and her 2nd husband, Harley Grace.

She was a constant in our lives and enjoyed her life to the fullest. Full of spunk and energy, she was an active and generous person, who never missed a chance to party and help others. The stories are plentiful and we will miss her boxed wine, her fast walking and most of all her love for Grand Marnier, among a lot of other memories. May she now dance, hold her son and husband in heaven, see her parents and keep an eye on her family, from above.

Arrangements were made under the direction of Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home 7950 131st St. N., Seminole, FL 33778\727-391-0121
