at the Bay Pines VA Hospital in Seminole, Florida.
He was born August 5,1948 in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the US Air Force in
Vietnam. He then worked for the Illinois Air National Guard, and later Northern Illinois Gas
in Princeton, Illinois. He also served as a volunteer fireman in Lake Zurich, Illinois.
He and his wife, Paulette,moved to Seminole, Florida in 1982, where he opened a
mobile brake repair business. He next worked for the St. Petersburg Times until retirement.
He worked as a volunteer every spring at the Sun ‘n Fun Festival in Lakeland, Florida,
up to and including last year.
Ron will be remembered as a deeply caring man who
never hesitated to help those in need. His love and compassion will continue to live on by
all of those who loved him.
He is preceded in death, and will be joining, his beloved son, John Anthony.
He is survivedby his wife of forty-five years, Paulette Augustine Barretto; his son, Michael, daughter-in- law, Renee Billa Barretto; two grandchildren, Mara andAnthony; and his brother, Richard Barretto of Carmel,
Indiana.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, January , 2019 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd., Largo, FL 33774. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made
to Cancer Research Institute, www.cancerresearch.org.
