Just heard about Ron's passing. Terry and I thought the world of him! You are in our thoughts and prayers!

Hi - I met Ron when I taught Physical Education for two years at Pinellas Park Jr. High back in Aug.1961 - June 1963. He was the kind of guy that you liked right away, and you just never forget. The Cuban Crisis came up and my husband had to leave Largo High, so we ended up at Ft. Benning for almost 2 years. We returned to Pinellas County w/ two small children, and I've lived here ever since. Did my 30 years, the final 25 at Madeira Beach Jr. High which became a middle school, and I retired in 1992. I never heard of or saw Ron since June 1963, but when his photo and name were listed in the paper, I thought of that nice man, and am sure you, Polly, and your family will miss Ron very much. Sincerely, Barbara "Bobbie" Grundmann (when at PPJH), but now "Bobbie" Bernstein - South Pasadena.

Dear Polly,
I just don't know what to say. Over this past weekend you and Ron just got into my head and I was overcome with a feverish need to find y'all. I began searching the white pages of Pennsylvania and Florida with little success. And on Monday, it occured to me to begin searching obituaries, starting with Ron. I know that sounds completely unbelievable, I'm a bit stunned myself...I am sad that this is what I found but I am hopeful that you are well. It's been so long, so much has changed but I guess that's the course of it all. Every night that I tuck eight year old Lily Evelyn into bed, I tell her a story of family history and she loves to hear them. Last night I told her about "Ron and Polly", how I was trying to find you. She said if I found you maybe we could visit. She'll be sad to know of my discovery, she is such a tender sweetheart. Nip and Evelyn would have really appreciated how bright she shines. I've thought of y'all and missed you over the years. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Polly: I was saddened to hear of the passing of Ron. I first met Ron through Bill DeCroteau when he was teaching at Pinellas Park Middle. Through the many years we shared laughs and had a close relationship while working for the school system. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Ron had both a dry wit and one that at other times would be a real knee slapper. I'm glad I was a fellow teacher along with him at Pinellas Park Jr. High. He also supported me with my photography business. He will be missed.
