

In his formative years, Ryan was an enthusiastic snow skier and football player, graduating from McNary High School in 1995. His dedication to service led him to the Pinellas Fire Academy, where he passionately trained to become a firefighter. Ryan embraced the challenges and adrenaline of firefighting, proudly serving with his brothers in the Seminole Fire Rescue.
Ryan also pursued his love for the ocean. He achieved the distinction of becoming a master diver through Hall’s Dive School.
Ryan's journey took a heartfelt turn when he met the love of his life, Hope Pierce, in the Florida Keys. They exchanged vows in 2005, and together, they navigated life's adventures.
Known for his boundless energy and loyalty, Ryan found joy in supporting the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Seahawks football team. He cherished attending classic car shows, particularly those featuring vintage mustangs. A skilled boat captain, motocross enthusiast, and avid golfer, Ryan expressed his creativity and art through woodworking.
Ryan is survived by his devoted wife, Hope Pierce, and their children, Alexa "Mia" Pierce and Ty Pierce. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Greg and Nancy Pierce, as well as his brother, DJ Pierce, and sister-in-law Deanna. He will be remembered with love by his in-laws Kevin Kozak, and Rick and Brenda Fairbanks. Ryan is preceded in death by Tessie Kozak, his mother in law.
His legacy extends to the tight-knit family of fellow firefighters, where he proudly served. A celebration of Ryan's vibrant life will take place on December 30, 2023, on the beach at the Civitan Beach House, 18604 Gulf Blvd, Indian Shores, FL 33785, starting at 4:30 PM. Formal seating will be minimal on the beach and its is encouraged to bring a beach chair. Attendees are invited to share remembrances and gather for a reception immediately following, as we honor the memory of a cherished husband, father, son, and friend.
