Steve was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He graduated from Dixie Hollins High School and Pinellas Technical Education Center, joined the Navy and returned to marry Marjie. He retired from St. Petersburg College and owned his own air conditioning business for many years. He loved remodeling houses and enjoyed making changes to their home and was always joking about tearing out a wall.
Steve’s hobbies were collecting Hess trucks, deep sea fishing, watching Nascar races and going to the Daytona races with his son. He was always willing to help someone in need.
Steve is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marjorie Adams Vaughan; sons, Christopher (Kate) and the late Timothy (Penny); grandsons, Tyler and Trenton and one granddaughter Riley. He is also survived by his mother, Elner and sister Cindy; mother-in-law, Evelyn; sister-in-law, Vikki; niece, Angela (Joe) and their daughter Bailey and son Benton. Steve was devoted to his family and would say that Marjie was the love of his life.
Steve enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor with an infectious laugh.
