Steven Douglas Wolf of Kissimmee, FL, passed away at the age of 71. Born October 28, 1953, in Lancaster, PA, Steve was the third of five children of Gene and Doris Wolf. He grew up on the family farm in Denver, PA, where he developed a love of the outdoors and especially fishing, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life.
After graduating high school, Steve proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea and later at Fort Stewart, GA, where he worked with petroleum supply and supported Army aviation. He was honorably discharged in 1974 at the rank of Specialist 4.
Following his service, Steve began a career as an Electronic Technician, first with Texas Instruments, then working in Central Florida for several companies before retiring from Mercury Marine in Kissimmee in 2015.
Steve was a devoted veteran and proud member of the VFW, serving as Commander of Post 9272 in Seminole, FL, and remaining active for many years in Kissimmee. He found joy in fishing outings and card games with his VFW buddies, and he especially loved playing Scrabble with family whenever they gathered. He was also a devoted NASCAR fan, and lover of Chevy vehicles.
Steve is survived by his loving mother Doris, sisters Debby (Maynard) and Dorrene, and brother Larry. He was preceded in death by his father Gene and brother Bruce.
Steve will be remembered for his service, his humor, his love of family, and the peaceful hours he spent fishing—surely now casting his line in heaven’s waters.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, St. Petersburg, FL, 33708, on October 9, 2025 at 2:30pm.
