Theresa Gesumaria Dorando

DORANDO, Theresa “Terry”, 85, of Largo, FL, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at home under the care of hospice and her loving family. She was born in Newark, NJ and moved to Florida in 1985 from Whiting, NJ. She was a secretary for Essex County Surrogate Court. She was Republican Chairlady for East Ward of Newark, NJ, and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Largo, FL. Terry fought a courageous battle against cancer. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Nicholas; a son, Dennis (Kathleen) of Newport, RI; a daughter, Laura (Joe) Servo of Largo, FL; a brother, Joseph (Mary) Gesumaria; a sister, Marie (Terry) Hough; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Dorando; 6 grandchildren, Joseph & Michael Servo, Angela Wilson, Jennifer & Lindsey Niejadlik, and Nicholas Dorando, and 4 great grandchildren, Jacob McAlister, Catherine Wilson, Olivia Servo and Owen Servo.

Visitation held Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a Wake service at 7:30 p.m. Committal services and interment held 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
