He was born in Huron, South Dakota and moved to Florida in 1970 from North Sioux City, Iowa. He was a heavy equipment operator and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leatta and brother, Bernard. Survivors include sons, William D., Bernard J. (Diana), Joseph M. (Barbara), and John L; daughters, Madonna M. Fink, and Deborah L. (Mark) Walker; sisters, Sharon Carlson, Deanna Faver, and Joann; grandchildren, Ricky, Torie, Murie, Latricia, B.J., & Loretta, and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park. Interment will be private in Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to: Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd. Clearwater, FL. 33760.
