

A funeral service was held for Sequim resident Erwin August Bahr, who died Aug. 25, 2011, at the age of 83.
He was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Beaver Crossing, Neb., to Herman and Anna Schroeder Bahr.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a master carpenter and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his companion Doris Ferdig of Sequim; son Erwin August Bahr Jr., of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters Judy Beth Jones of Lincoln, Neb., and Carol Ann Potter of Neligh, Neb.; stepchildren and their families, Rodney Hilgren of Crete, Neb.; Rick Hilgren of Port Angeles; Janette Fischer of Ewing, Neb.; and Pam Tielke of South Dakota; sister Viola Zwick of Seward, Neb.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Sequim Valley Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
