Lillian C. McVay died on February 27, 2014, of an extended illness. She was born on September 5, 1920, in Highland Park, Michigan, to James and Mary (Cardona) Robertson.
She worked as a secretary for Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Michigan, for 17 years before going to Saudi Arabia (in 1956) to work for the Arabian Oil Company. There, she met Dee McVay, whom she married in 1965 on Bahrain Island. They retired in 1978, returned to the States and took up residence in Sequim.
Dee preceded Lillian in 1997.Lillian is survived by her four stepchildren, Michael McVay and Patrick McVay of Whidbey Island, Wash., and Judy McVay and Eileen Willis of Spokane, Washington; by her in-laws, Bill Eagle of Port Angeles, H.P. McVay of Kalispell, Montana, and Jane Jensen of Cathlamet, Washington; and by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.The McVay family would especially like to thank Dan and Susan Ramberg for the selfless friendship and for reaching out to Lillian on a daily basis during her decline.
Lillian will be remembered by her friends and family alike for her quick wit and tenacious spirit, but most of all for her deep, abiding love for her husband, Dee.
Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 121 East Maple Street, Sequim, on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 11 a.m., with a reception immediately following the Mass, after which interment will take place at Dungeness Cemetery, 2153 Lotzgesell Road, Sequim, at 1:45 p.m. Rest in peace, Lil
