

She was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on June 7, 1933 to the late Felipe Delgado and Modesta Medina. She was the last remaining member of the Delgado-Medina family. As a young woman, she left Puerto Rico to Bridgeport,Connecticut where she lived and worked as an expert seamstress (together with her sister Benita. It was there that she fell in love and was a loving and strong-willed mother. The family returned to Puerto Rico, living in Caguas (at Turabo Gardens). They then moved to the Cidra country side (Certenejas) and finally to Shallotte, NC. She was a woman of faith and a devout Catholic. She was instrumental in the lady's affiliation Knights of Columbus of Caguas Puerto Rico. She was always willing to help others and her main priority was the care and welfare of her family. Angela was the example caregiver for our grandmother Modest and for her disabled sister Aurea until their deaths. She loved to sing, make jokes, and bring happiness to the family. She loved nature, especially flowers (orchids and roses), birds, and animals. In addition to being with the family, sharing, and cooking, being a mom was her passion. She wanted to share and be remembered, “that I tried to be the best mom and grandmother to my kids, that I loved my husband until death.”
Angela is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Gabriel, Demetrio, Jacinta (Nicolasa), Eusebio, Placida, José (Cheo), Guadalupe (Lulo), Benita, Pedro (Peyito), Aurea, and Alejo.
She is survived by her husband of seventy years (70), Jose Correa Sr, and their children: José Jr, Marilyn (Sally), Richard (Gloria), Héctor (Ramona), and daughter Cathy Delgado, 8 grandchildren (Marcos, Daniel, Omar, Gamaliel, Frances, Javier, Cynthia, Sebastian) and 5 great grandchildren (Little Gamy, Teagean, Mayah, Gigi, Gabriel). Additionally, numerous nephews and nieces.
Her memorial service and burial will be held in Borinquen Memorial in Caguas, Puerto Rico.
The viewing will be January 4, 2024, from 2:00-8:00 PM and on January 5, 2024, from 8:00 AM until her holy burial.
