She was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on March 18, 1928 the daughter of the late Paul Meacombs and Selma Stokes Meacombs. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, William Lawton Bunn and a sister Gertie Price.
Pearl was a devoted Christian and loved her Lord and Savior. She was the oldest member of Freedom Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in many ministries of the church until her declining health prevented her from attending. She was retired as a dental assistant working in the dentistry field for over 30 years. After retirement she became a volunteer with the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and enjoyed helping patients at the hospital for over 24 years. She loved mostly spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and loving on her grand dogs. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, baking, flower arranging, crafting projects and tending to the beautiful flowers she had growing in her garden. Her affectionate smile always showed the joy she had in her heart that came from the generosity of doing for others. Her life was a true example of the love she shared for everyone she met.
She leaves behind her loving children, a son, William Earl Bunn (Ron) of St. Augustine, Florida and a daughter, Barbara Bunn Hardee (Billy) of Wilmington; two grandsons, Brian Bunn and Dallas Hardee (Julia) also of Wilmington; several nephews and nieces, and many close friends.
