Arthur was born March 12, 1948 in Bergen County, New Jersey, one of eighteen children of the late James Elwood and Blanche Mann Jennings Rose. He was a proud United States Army veteran. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, made him very happy. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and riding motorcycles. His family would tease him for pre-washing the dishes prior to loading the dishwasher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Teresa Jennings of Little River, South Carolina; children, Clarisa Jennings of Middletown, New York, Melanie Rabuse of Clayton, North Carolina, and Arthur Jennings, Jr. and wife Sarah of Leland, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, Julian, Emily, Phoenix, Cole, Kelsey, Piper, Maia, Erinn, Esmee, and AJ; three great grandchildren; Deon, Avani and Delilah; several brothers and sisters; and two special canine companions, Harley and Gypsie.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Shallotte Chapel, 4690 East Coast Lane, Shallotte, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
An additional Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in New York.
