Betty Jo Edge

She was born in Brunswick County on April 4, 1936, the daughter of the late, Adrian Dozier Long and Vera McLamb Long Hinson, and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Sidelinger.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Jennings Dozier Edge of the home; two children, Gary Edge and wife, Debbie of Durham, NC and Adrianna Edge Sidelinger and husband, Michael of Shallotte, NC; a sister, Myrtle Lee Trest of Calabash, NC; four grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Anna Edge of Nashville, TN, Melanie Edge of Charlotte, NC, Rebecca Sidelinger of Raleigh, NC, Lauren Sidelinger of Shallotte, NC; and nephew, Roy D. Trest and wife, Donna of Calabash, NC and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Camp United Methodist Church with Reverend Richard Vaughan and Chaplain Charles Fox officiating.

Interment will follow in the McLamb-Anderson Cemetery at Hickman’s Crossroads.

The family will receive family and friends 6 to 8 PM Friday July 31, 2015 at White Funeral and Cremation Service Shallotte Chapel and other times at their residence.

Pallbearers will be: Ben Edge, Chris Edge, Stuart Edge, Kenny Stevens, Bill Twigg and Keith Smith.
