

Carl was born on March 19, 1959 in Bridgeport, CT to Margaret Cecelia Kertesz and Joseph Victor Pozvek of Monroe, CT. Carl graduated from Masuk high school in 1977. After high school, Carl became a master carpenter and worked as an independent contractor. He spent the last 30 years of his career at Stew Leonard’s in Danbury, CT in the construction department until his retirement in 2021. Carl resided in New Milford, CT and relocated to North Carolina after retirement.
Carl’s life revolved around five Fs; Family, Friends, Fun, Food and especially Fishing. He was devoted to his family, he became friends with everyone he met, loved to have a good time, cooked food for anyone and had an incredible love for the sport of fishing which he enjoyed sharing with others.
Carl is survived by his wife, Nancy Hogan-Pozvek, originally from Greenwich, CT. His daughter Shannon Hogan; his two grandchildren Carter and Charlie, his son Ryan Hogan and his wife Ashley, and his beloved mother Margaret Pozvek. He is also survived by his siblings, Joey Pozvek, Gary Pozvek and wife Trisha, sister Mary-Ellen Wilkes and husband Larry, sister Loretta Kandrot and her husband Al, and brother Michael Pozvek and his wife Laura. Additionally, Carl is survived by nieces Katie Hayward, Jessica Wilkes and nephews Jesse, Matthew, John and Chris. Carl is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. Carl also held close relationships with his sister and brothers-in-law; Catrina Fox, Steven Fox, Joe Fox and his wife Debbie, Kevin Fox and his wife Janice, Frank Polley and his wife Maureen and nieces and nephews, Nick, Erica, Clint, Katie, Jack, Owen, Lida, and Griffin.
Carl is predeceased by his father, Joseph Victor Pozvek.
