Born on May 2, 1947 in Passaic County, New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary Palfy Baumgartner. Cathie lived in Holden Beach, North Carolina and also Phoenix, New York. Cathie earned a Bachelor's Degree from Douglass College of Rutgers University and her Master's degree at Penn State. She served as Vice President and Consultant of a Environmental Consulting firm.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Slack ; a sister, Maryann Wallace; sister in-law, Bonita Baumgartner; Cousins, Ron Pukl and Jane Nataro; four step-grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews.
