

Born in Brunswick County, NC on December 9, 1952, he was a son of the late Elder Bright and Lula Evans Hewett. Bimbo was a restaurant manager, and was a US Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a son Christopher Hewett, brothers, Jerry Wayne Hewett, Carl Edward Hewett, Sr., William Daniel Hewett, Thurman Brite Hewett and Junior Brite Hewett.
Survivors include a son, Robert Charles Hewett of Greensboro; a daughter, Misty Hewett of Supply; two brothers, Kindle (Anne) Hewett, Rocky Hewett both of Supply; two sisters, Judy (Jerry) Hewett Foster of Bolivia, Ilene (Donald) Simmons of Supply; an aunt, Cecile Evans Fulford; numerous nieces and nephews and a special canine companion, “Ziggy”.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at 1:00 PM, Wednesday the eleventh of May, 2016 from the graveside in the Hewett Family Cemetery with The Reverend Brad Ferguson officiating.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, the tenth of May, in the White Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, Shallotte.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers during Wednesday’s services are Timothy Pierce Smith, Roy Dale Simmons, Rocky Lane Hewett, II, Jammie Simmons, William Edward Smith and Mark Lopez.
