Born on September 14, 1952, in Southport, North Carolina, Clarence, also known as “Bimbo,” was the beloved son of the late Clarence Sr. and Elizabeth “Betty” Lancaster. Throughout his life, he was known for many admirable qualities, but his devotion to his family stood above all else.
Bimbo followed in his father’s footsteps dedicating his career to dredging as a chief engineer—He took great pride in helping keep our coastal waterways navigable. His legacy was built on hard work, grit, and a deep love for the water. That legacy will continue through his nephew, Shawn Brannan, who proudly carries on the family tradition as a dredging chief engineer. Above all, Bimbo cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his siblings, Cathy Brannan, Charles “Horse” Lancaster, and Chris Lancaster (Margaret); his niece, Tanya Brannan; his nephews, Shawn Brannan (Vicki) and Michael Lancaster (Jessie); his great-nieces, Camryn, Charlee, and Sofia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Brooke Lancaster, and his great-nephew, Hudson Brannan.
Bimbo will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong work ethic, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Varnam Cemetery in Supply, North Carolina with Reverend Gerald Kirby officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, if desired.
