Obituary of David Wood Harry, Jr.
David W. Harry, a gentle and caring man, devoted father and friend, left this world peacefully on April 22, 2020, leaving all in his path awed at his persistence, acceptance, and determination. David and Frances, his late wife of 65 years, leave a family legacy of six children -- Kathleen Andrew of NC, Donna Woltzen of FL, David Harry of MS, Mary Garner of NC, Elizabeth Ruddell of FL, and Michael Harry of NC; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Born in Milledgeville, GA, on May 22, 1921, David served his country as an administrator and medic during World War II, landing on Omaha Beach and caring for the wounded in the European Campaign. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful 35-year career with International Harvester. In retirement, David enjoyed gardening, boating, music, reading, new friendships, and spending time with his family while living in the Northern Neck of Virginia, in Annapolis, Maryland, and Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. He will be missed by all and loving memories will remain. David W.
