He then moved to Severna Park, MD, and sold polymer based repair products and coatings for almost 20 years. Dave obtained his Maryland residential real estate appraiser license and worked for a Maryland firm for over six years, obtaining additional licenses to appraise in Virginia, the District of Columbia and West Virginia. He formed his own appraisal firm in 2008 and retired in April of 2015 when he moved from Maryland to North Carolina.

Dave enjoyed gardening, reading and music, especially 1950’s rock and roll.

As a classmate of Dave throughout elementary and high school, I had immense admiration and respect for his intellect, his fun loving personality, his athleticism, and mostly his kindness to all he knew. He was one of those men who was a true gentle man to all who were privileged to have called him “friend”. Peace be with you, dear Dave. Sincere sympathy to Patti and the rest of Dave’s family.

Dave was a great and kind man. Patti was a member of our book club when they lived in Maryland. Each and every time we went to their home for a meeting, Dave was always there to help Patti out with hosting and to visit with the book club members, always taking an interest in our lives, kids, real estate questions, etc. They hosted our book club at many different times, but our favorite was during the holidays, as Patti and Dave decorated their house so impressively and it always felt so welcoming. We have missed you both since you moved to North Carolina, but we will carry our fond memories of Dave always. My thoughts and prayers are with you Patti.

All of the students at Shepherdstown High School looked up to and respected Dave. I was only a seventh grader when I first knew Dave and he was one of my idols. I followed his athletic career and the the thing I remember most was in basketball he shot the basketball under handed at the foul line and made almost all of his shots. It was something I will never forget. He was an outstanding student and was a role model for everyone. It was an honor to have been at Shepherdstown High School with Dave. He will be greatly missed by all of us who attended Shepherdstown High. My prayers for Patty and his family.
