

Donald Lawrence VanSteen, 90, of Supply, North Carolina, passed away on May 3, 2026. Born October 1, 1935, Donald will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude by all who knew and loved him.
Donald served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran, a commitment that reflected a steady sense of duty and devotion. He later worked as a structural fitter in the construction industry, bringing faithful effort and reliability to the work of building and providing.
A beloved husband, Donald shared 61 years of marriage with his wife, Polly VanSteen. He is survived by four children: David VanSteen of Supply; Shelly Whaley (Neal) of Shallotte; Donnie VanSteen (Lori) of Berrien Springs, Michigan; and Mina VanSteen of Supply. He is also survived by eight grandchildren—Mitchell, William, J.T., Ryan, Dalton, Clay, Hannah, and Arian—and 15 great-grandchildren.
Donald was a member of United Vision Pentecostal Church of Shallotte, N.C., where his faithful presence and devotion were known and valued.
Visitation will be held at United Vision Pentecostal Church, 2408 A I Clemmons Road, Shallotte, NC, on May 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will follow at the same location on May 9, 2026, at 3:00 pm with Reverend Ricky Hewett and Reverend Carlton "Moto" King officiating.
Interment will take place at Shell Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Shallotte, NC, on May 9, 2026.
