

Dotti was born in Hightstown, New Jersey on October 28, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Silvers Hutchinson.
She graduated from Hightstown High School and was a member of the cheerleading squad. Dotti graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia with a PRN Degree in Nursing and later returned to college where she earned her RN degree in nursing. Her career as a nurse was for over thirty years which included positions in a senior rest home, hospital surgical floor and an orthopedic surgeon’s office.
She faithfully cared for her mother with Alzheimer’s for more than 15 years. Her hobbies were sewing, quilting, gardening and golf. She was a NC Master Gardener for 10 years. She loved her miniature schnauzer Cooper and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Dotti’s favorite destination was St. John, US Virgin Islands. She was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International for almost 40 years helping to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She continued her support throughout three moves from Charlotte, North Carolina to Dallas, Texas and then returning to her current home in Calabash, North Carolina. She was featured in a publication by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on December 23, 2021 for her love and generous support on behalf of the children of St. Jude.
She is survived by her husband Calvin, two children, Brad and wife Marie, Dean and wife Kim and three granddaughters Holly, Joy, Noelle and a step-grandson Jackson.
