Coach Flinchum was my basketball coach from the 7th grade through high school. After my junior season we got yo go to the NC 2-A basketball playoffs. He was the best coach that I ever had. We had outstanding records. During my varsity career we won 49 out of 68 games. 2 regular season championships. 3 conference tournament finals. Won won a district championship and got to travel to the state playoffs. Because of him I got to play college basketball at UNC at GREENSBORO from 1972-1976! He was a wonderful person and was like a father to several of us his players.
My name is Douglas Foust

Coach Flinchum was my coach at Gibsonville High School. I played football and baseball for him at the JV level. I also kept score for him in basketball. He was an outstanding basketball coach and a great person. Once I graduated from college and started coaching i enjoyed talking with him many times. Coach, was one of the reasons I got into teaching and coaching. What a great guy>

Mark, Scott and Jan,
I'm so sorry to hear about Eddie's passing. I have fond memories of all of our family gatherings with Eddie and my dad swapping coaching stories, Granny taking care of the "outlaws," and of your dad loving his spoon of peanut butter! Sending you lots of love during this sad time. Ellen
