Edna Inman

Edna was born in Brunswick County on December 19, 1936, daughter of the late Morris L. Simmons and Annie Coleman Simmons. She was a longtime, faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Edna worked for many years at Maxway and Walmart in Shallotte. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband Samuel Thomas Inman, and brother Teddy “Speedy” Simmons, son in law, Pat Long, and great grandchild, Bridgette Anspaugh.

Survivors include her children, Thomas Inman and wife Sue of Ash, Allen Inman and wife Shaina of Shallotte, Debbie Long of Ash, Theresa Register and husband Mark of Ash; grandchildren, Heath Inman and wife Tiffanie, Brian Inman and wife Ashley, Shanetta Wood and husband Steve, Jeffrey Inman, Ashlie Wells and husband John; great grandchildren, Carah Inman, Maggie Wells, Samuel Jac Wells, Madison Ricker and husband Dalton, Aerial Woods and husband Tyler, Theodore Wood and wife Mabel, Austin Inman, Isabella Wood, Brayden Inman, and Kaitlyn Price and husband AJ; great-great grandchildren, Annabella Todd, Jaxston McKeithan, Lucas McKeithan, and Baker Price; two sisters, Alta Inman of Ash and Loretta S. Freeman of Stedman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at three o’clock in the afternoon at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Needham officiating. Burial will follow in the Bill Inman Cemetery in Ash.

Pallbearers will be Heath Inman, Brian Inman, Jeffrey Inman, Theodore Wood, Austin Inman, and Brayden Inman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leonard Ranager and Lynn Gause.

The family will receive friends from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening on Monday, October 26, 2026 at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 4690 East Coast Lane, Shallotte, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to SECU Hospice of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, North Carolina 28422.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick for their excellent care and the volunteers from Calvary Baptist Church for their assistance during this difficult time.
