

Lorraine was born October 4, 1932, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, daughter of the late Clyde D. Young and Sidney Mason Young. She retired from Prince William County School Board and was a member of Arden United Methodist Church in West Virginia. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved her family with passion and kindness and loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. She enjoyed the beach, taking long walks and being outside as well as reading and doing word seek books. Lorraine was a wealth of knowledge as to important family and friends' dates. She knew everyone's birthday, when they married, where they lived, and list of any child born and always acknowledged special occasions by sending cards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Wilson Puffenbarger, three brothers, Bruce L. Young, Max E. Young, and Herbert A. Young; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Puffenbarger.
Survivors include her sons, Keith Puffenbarger and wife Sue of Jeffersonton, Virginia and Brian Puffenbarger of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one daughter, Deanna Smith and husband Kenny of Supply, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; nineteen nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to her caregivers at Autumn Care of Shallotte and Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
